He is survived by: his spouse Harriett K. "Kay" Ackerknecht (Shook); his daughter Beverly Ackerknecht of Pinellas Park, FL; his grandchildren, Ashley and Shane; and his sisters, Leola, Cadugan of Jim Thorpe and Patricia "Patsy" Cecala (Joseph) of Whitehall. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be offered in Leo's name to St. Luke's Hospice/Development, 801 Ostrum Street, Bethlehem, PA 18015.
