He was predeceased by: his parents, Yke DeBoer and Engeltje DeBoer (Zwering); his wife Joan Marie DeBoer (Kiefer); and his siblings, Styntje Cooper, Tetjte Cawley, Eva Mensch, Emma Brandt and Henry DeBoer.
He is survived by: his children, Heidi Hodge (David) of Iowa City, IA, Holli Jones (Wayne) of Buffalo, WY, John DeBoer (Erika Stofflet) of Bangor, PA, Hope Horn (Keith) of Bangor, PA and Heleen Kiefer Parker of Allentown; his grandchildren, Rachael, Weston, Kalvin, Rebecca, David, Krystal, Kelli, Russell, Grace, Gavin, Garrett, Carter, Mikaela and Michael; his great grandchildren, Reagan, Levi, Adrienne, Camden, Everly, Carson, Drake, Jack, Bennett, Banks, Charlee, Stella, Polly, Elizabeth, Eva, Tripp, Cora, Tate, Lane and David John; and his close friend Frieda Smith.
