He was predeceased by: his father Robert W. Sloan; his son Douglass J. Sloan; and his brother Robert W. Sloan. He is survived by: his mother Ruth M. Sloan (Douglass) of Bethlehem, PA; his wife Stacey E. Sloan (Mandelbaum); his children, Sarah Sloan (Eli), Jamie Lyn Waclawik and Ryan W. Sloan; and his siblings, Ruthann Crabtree and Blane Sloan (Linda). He is also survived by six grandchildren.
