He was loved and cherished by many people including: his wife Judith C.; his children, Donald R. Carpenter (Nancy), Douglas B. Carpenter (Charlotte) and Diane E. Knechtel (Keith); his siblings, Eugene Carpenter, Marilyn Compel, Douglas L. Carpenter and Lois Hoke; and his grandchildren, Lauren, Catherine, Beverly and Daniel. He was also cherished by five great-grandchildren.
