He is survived by: his wife Kathleen Lyons Hamel; his children, Thomas Hamel (Stephanie), Steven Hamel (Jill), Ann Stanton (Scott) and Jeffrey Hamel (Danielle); and his grandchildren, Matthew, Michael, Brittany, Allison, Peter, Olivia, Brett, Emma, Jack, Isabelle, Myles, Jude and Clark. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
