He was predeceased by: his parents, Ann Riehl and Harvey Riehl; and his siblings, Harry, Joseph, Annamarie and Barbara.

He is survived by: his wife Johanna Riehl; his children, Danielle Anstotz (Daniel), Philip J. Riehl, Jr., Mark and Anna Riehl (Peter); and his brother Jack Riehl. He is also survived by his five grandchildren, his great- grandson.
