He was predeceased by: his parents, Carl Utberg and Alice Woodward Utberg; and his brother Carl Utberg. He is survived by: his wife Cecile F. Scattaregia Danielson Utberg; his children, Robert Utberg and Beth Bordeaux; his stepson Carl Danielson; his brother Bill Utberg; his grandchildren, Bode, Benji, Alexis, Alison and Logan; and his stepgrandchildren, Chris and Anna.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to Tunnels to Towers Foundation or Wounded Warrior Foundation.
