She was predeceased by: her parents, Herman Ginder and Dora Ginder (Hossler); her husband Elmer Gruber; her son Gerald Sr.; and her granddaughter Sarah Horsfield.
She is survived by: her children, Sandra Witmer (Dennis), Robert (Rebecca), Kenneth (Kristina), J. Merle (Barbara), Mary Ann Horsfield (Al), Diane Gruber-Strickland (Steven) and Phillip (Michele); her daughter-in-law Barbara Detz; and her sister Nancy Ladd of Florida. She is also survived by twelve grandchildren; seventeen great grandchildren.
