He was predeceased by: his parents, Walter H. Bowman and Rose Marie Cantola Bowman; and his sister Linda Veneziani. He is survived by: his wife Linda Kay Glacken Bowman; his children, Candace Crawford (Lee) of East Vandergrift and Gerald L. Bowman (Sheila) of Elderton; his grandchildren, Tiffany Baker (Jason) of Kepple Hill, Nicholas Crawford of East Vandergrift, Jacob Bowman of Ford Cliff, Hannah Bowman of Ford Cliff, Brandon and Tyler Ramer of Elderton; his great grandchildren, Caleigh, Sadie and Rory Baker; his brothers, Robert Bowman (Kathy) of Avonmore and Donald "Gig" Bowman (Katherine) of Roanoke Rapids, NC; and his brother-in-law Leonard "Nugget" Veneziani of Avonmore. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
