She was predeceased by: her parents, Harvey L. Shaffer and Esther Shaffer (Alsippi); and her siblings, Harvey L. Shaffer, Jr., Robert Shaffer, Ronald, Donald Shaffer, Mary Hinzy, Virginia "Ginny" Ward and Gloria Rokicsak.
She is survived by: her husband Carl A. Fontana; her children, Angela L. Palmiscno (Brian) of Avonmore, Carla J. Leightner (Rory) of Medina, OH, David J. Fontana (Kathy) of Canonsburg and Bernard A. Fontana (Kristin) of Lower Burrell; her grandchildren, Anthony, Maria, Kristin (Jared), Stephanie (Roth), Matthew (Kimberly), Benjamin, Nathan (Kayleigh), Michael (Maria), Christopher (Briana), Rebecca (Evan), Ethan (Margo), Tyler and Jonathan; and her brother Ed Shaffer of Avonmore. She is also survived by 14 great-grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
