He was predeceased by: his parents, Richard Allen McGinness and Reba Workman; his wife Glenda Lee Miller; and his brothers, Lynn McGinness and Buster Strunk.

He is survived by: his brothers, Wayne and Michael McGinness; his children, Dennis McGinness, Kim Nichols and Kelly Alexander; his grandchildren, Heather, Brock, Kelly Jo, Austin, Gabriel and Samuel; and his great grandchildren, Shephard, Sophie, McKinley, Oliver and Micah.
