He was predeceased by: his parents, Teddy Gene Howell and Patsy Gene Straight Howell; his parents-in-law, Rocco and Margaret Boni; his grandparents, Kenneth, Anna Belle Howell, James and Thelma Straight; and his stepsiblings, Stephen Michael Melko III and Christine Melko Weiler.
He is survived by: his significant other Roxanne Boni Howell; his sons, Chris Rose (Sarah), Michael Rose and Douglas Gene Howell II (Brittany); his sister Becky Harris (Rob) of New Cumberland, WV.; his grandsons, Mason Rose and Hudson Rose; and his stepmother JoAnn Settle Howell. He is also survived by his uncle, aunts, nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and many cousins.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, a memorial celebration of Doug's life is being planned for a later date.
