She was predeceased by: her parents, Dewey Z. Peters and Leola Peters (Brooks); her husband Robert W. Cooney; her siblings, Weldon, Russell Peters, Norma Geraldine Hunsinger-McIlhaney, Wilma Brown and Ardella Losey; and her son-in-law Sean M. Welch.
She is survived by: her children, Robert L. Cooney (Karen) of Smethport and Teresa M. Cooney of Austin; her grandsons, Robert, Thomas and David Cooney; and her great grandchildren, Eloise and Elizabeth Cooney. She is also survived by nieces and nephews.
