He was predeceased by: his parents, William J. Murphy and Cecelia Murphy (Cullen); his wife Eileen T. Murphy; and his sisters, Rita Pesature and Ethel Meara.
He is survived by: his children, William G. Murphy, Jr. (Cecelia "Peggy"), Thomas J. Murphy (Betty), Mark J. Murphy (Amy Greer), Regina E. Oplinger (John) and Theresa M. Betts (John); his grandchildren, Leigh Anne Lonergan (Sean), Brian Murphy (Rachel), Katie Murphy, Michael Oplinger, Amy Almes (Anthony), Andrew Betts and Kristin Betts; his great grandchildren, Hadley Lonergan, Zoe Lonergan, William Porter Lonergan and Tristan Lonergan; and his sister Midge Priest.
