He was predeceased by: his parents, Russell R. Payne and Margaret T. Payne; his wife Marlene Molines Payne; and his brothers, Russell R. Payne, Jr. and George Payne (Jeanne).

He is survived by: his children, Thomas J. Payne and Dr. Stephanie Payne Capua (Joseph); his grandchildren, Carolyn, Stephen, Connor and Dylan; and his siblings, Helen McCabe, John Payne (Nancy) and Margaret "Pip" Shafer. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

He always had a smile AND gave me the scores and we would always talk about the games. Most of all he would tell me when he went to visit his family. He would tell me about his grandchildren, their successes and how proud he was of all of you. I am so happy to know your dad/grandfather and I know he had a very Merry Christmas!
