He was predeceased by: his parents, Dr. Malcolm J. and Vera M. Harkins (Connor); his sons, Thomas G. Harkins, Patrick T. Harkins and John E. Harkins, Sr.; and his siblings, Malcolm J. Harkins, Jr., Francis J. Harkins, James M. Harkins and Alice V. Harkins.
He is survived by: his wife Rita Harkins (Lavan) of Audubon; his children, Malcolm J. Harkins, III (Maura J. McDonnell) of Arnold, Joseph I. "Joby" Harkins, Jr. (Cornota) of Drexel Hill and Marybeth E. Daniels (Scott) of Cambridge, MD.; and his daughter-in-law Michelina Harkins of Port Charlotte. He is also survived by 14 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren.
