He is survived by: his wife Cynthia; his sisters-in-law, Sandra Loewen and Sylvia McFadden; his daughter Susan Portner (Douglas); his grandchildren, Heather Hartman, Devon Heim (Jonathan), Ryan Kelly (Jaici), Olivia Portner and Connor Portner (Aerin Doughty); his great grandchildren, Lilly Hartman, Catherine Hartman, Caroline Hartman, Kaleigh Heim and Liam Heim; his son R. Donald Avellino, Jr. (Carolyn); his grandchildren, R. Donald "DJ" Avellino III (Brittany), Matthew Avellino (Bria), Carolyn "Callie" Avellino and Valentina Avellino; his son Mark; his grandchildren, Marli Avellino and Galileo Avellino; his daughter Anne "Nancy" Avellino-Donaghy (Jim); his grandchildren, Mallory Baldo (Nicholas), Meredith Bulgarelli (Andrew Kirkland), Madison Bulgarelli, Paige and Evan Donaghy; his daughter Cynthia Avellino; his grandchildren, Alexis Modica, Catherine Modica (Catie) and Lauren Modica; his daughter Alexandra Devlin (Brian); his grandchildren, Kevin Nichols (Taylor), Taylor Nichols-Clonts, Parker Clonts, Aidan Nichols, Bridget Devlin, Anya Devlin and Caroline Devlin; his great grandchild John Donald Clonts; his daughter Jennifer Avellino; his grandchildren, Maxwell Christopher Avellino, Blake Austin Gardner (Olivia), Shane Stewart Gardner and Luke David Kenkelen; his great grandchildren, Daxton Anthony Gardner and Kinsley Anne Gardner; his daughter Melissa Holt (Robert); his granddaughters, Emma Carl and Annabelle "Liz" Holt; his son Scott Avellino (Mimi); his grandchildren, Scott Avellino Jr., Maggie Avellino and Sarah Avellino; and his children, Allison Avellino-Levine (Linsey) and Levine. He is also survived by thirty-four grandchildren and eight great grandchildren with another grandchild and a great grandchild.
In lieu of flowers, Don requested donations be made to Andrews' Friends Fund https://andrewsfriendsfund.com in honor of his late grandson Andrew, or Shriners Hospital for Children.
