He was predeceased by: his parents, Otto "Doc" Place and Marie Place; his wife Barbara J. Place; his children-in-law, Mary Ann Place and Chuck Perkins; his granddaughter Cristen Charnley; and his great grandchild Layne Xavier Place.
He is survived by: his children, Chuck Place (Brenda Smith) of South Auburn, PA, Debbie Perkins of Stevensville, PA and Eric Place (Linda) of South Auburn, PA; his grandchildren, Rebecca McClain (Ashley) of Black Walnut, Jim Charnley of Easton, PA, Seth Perkins of Seattle, WA, Adam Perkins (Anna) of Bar Harbor, ME, Nathan Place (Courtney) of Lawton, PA, Ryan Place (Elizabeth) of Seattle, WA and Erica Place (Kevin McGuire) of South Auburn, PA.; and his great grandchildren, Maxwell McClain, Caitlyn, Jacob Charnley, Minnette, John, Simon Perkins, Charlie, Roisin Perkins, Allie, Maddie, Wesley Place, Luna and Elliot Place-Ryan. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Friday, April 11th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Sheldon Funeral Home (8206 Main St, Meshoppen, PA 18630). A funeral service was held on Friday, April 11th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
