He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert H. Cooney and Mabel Cooney (Wood); and his brothers, David and William. He is survived by: his wife Susan (Vilbon); his brothers, John (Joanne), James (Norma), Stephen (Anne) of Rockport, MA and Christopher (Diane) of Kodiak, AK; his son Robert R. Cooney, MD (Stephanie); his grandchildren, Adelay, Foster and Maven of Danville, PA; and his son Scott B. Cooney (Amelia) of Bend, OR.. He is also survived by his family and friends.
