She was predeceased by: her parent Joseph Zapotocky; her siblings, Anna Hopko, Mary Suflita, Helen Grecko, Michael Zapotocky and John Zapotocky; and also Anna Zapotocky (Taras).

She is survived by: her husband William R. Loose; her children, Vincent Loose (Ruth) of Mechanicsburg, PA, Ann Marie Loose of Apalachin, NY and William D. Loose (Marlene) of Kingston, PA; her grandsons, Brian Loose, Eric Loose, Andrew Loose and Grant Loose; and her siblings-in-law, Joseph Loose and Margaret Johnston (Philip) of Reading, PA. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Memorial contributions in Melanie's name may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
