It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Jan M. Strope of Athens, Pennsylvania, born in Danville, Pennsylvania, who passed away on July 8, 2022, at the age of 69, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Fritz Witmer and Virginia Hoffman Witmer; her husband Sonny Strope; her sister Lynne Lane; her daughter Shannon Strope; and her granddaughter Sara Strope.
She is survived by: her children, Cary Crossett (John) and David Strope (Emily); her grandchildren, Ryan, Garrett, Gretchen and Dylin; her great grandchild Sophia; her sisters, Sherry Frisbie (Larry), Kim Witmer and Jill Lastufka (Jim); and her siblings-in-law, Greg Lane and Juanita Peet (Brian). She is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
