With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Gordon Hawthorne of Athens, Pennsylvania, born in South Waverly, Pennsylvania, who passed away on October 14, 2021 at the age of 87. He was predeceased by: his parents, Leon Hawthorne and Clarabell Hawthorne (Porter); his grandson Timothy Hawthorne; his wife Vera Hawthorne (Thompson); and his siblings, Franklin Hawthorne, Doris Hiley, Madelyn Arnold, Janice Glockner and Donald Hawthorne.
He is survived by: his children, Wesley Hawthorne of Sayre, PA, Brian, Judy Hawthorne of LeRaysville, PA, Valerie Fenton of Owego, NY and Mark Hawthorne of Athens, PA; his grandchildren, Eric Hawthorne, Jason Raymond, Guy Raymond, Michael Horton, Vicky Culbertson, Alexander Hawthorne and Mark Hawthorne, Jr.; and his great grandchildren, Dayden, Cherish, Allison, Ayla, Parker, Devon, Tyrese, Michael, Jr. and Hunter. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
