He was predeceased by: his parents, Allan Gowan and Millicent Gowan (Waring); and his siblings, Alton Gowan (Bill), Waldo Gowan, James Gowan, Donna Sawyer, Naomi Leavenworth and Janet O'Dell.
He is survived by: his wife Beatrice L. Gowan (Humphrey); his children, William Gowan (Carol), Bonnie Gowan, Sherry Jamison (Joe), Deborah West (Allan), George Gowan Jr. (Janet) and Wendy Gowan; and his grandchildren, Kelle Motsko, Jason Gowan, Jamie Gowan, Bryan Miller, Brenton Miller, Shannon Foote, Brandon Miller, Stephanie Miller, Kelsey Jamison, Joey Jamison, Nate West, Jessica Shiposh (West), Brandon Shiposh, Stacy Wolcott, Mindy Wolcott, Ruby Wolcott, Sheena Harper (Gowan) and Zachery Gowan. He is also survived by 23 great grandchildren and 4 great great grandchildren, as well as numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.
