He was predeceased by: his parents, William Carlen and Mabel Quinn Carlen; his wife MaryJane Carlen (Dorsey); his daughters, April Duncan and Krystal Carlen; and his siblings, William, Leroy, Ronnie, Mitzy (Mabel) and Elaine.
He is survived by: his daughter Joyce Anderson; his sisters, Marie Swanson and Joanne Jones; his son-in-law Jimmy "Moose" Duncan; his grandchildren, Daryl, Shawn, Jalen, Wayne J., Robert and Turquoise; and his great grandchildren, Kylah and Leila.
