He was predeceased by: his wife Hilda Patterson (Lewis); his siblings, Richard Patterson and Peggy Loucks; and his siblings-in-law, Lila Patterson, Louise Patterson and Dave Lehman.

He is survived by: his pet Webster; his children, Thomas Patterson (Lori) of Lawrenceville, Teresa LaVancher (Joseph) of Painted Post, N. Y. and Tammy Clark (Joseph) of Elizabethville; his grandchildren, Heather Morgan (Wynn), Joseph Clark (Cassie) and Michael Patterson; his significant other Fern Heberling; his children, Kevin Hoover (Patsy) of Tower City, Doug Hoover of Tower City, John Heberling of Tower City, Carol Howard (Ed) of Millersburg and Brenda Soricelli of Williamstown; his daughters-in-law, Hannah Hoover of West Virginia and Rosa Hoover of Tower City; his sisters, Arlene Price (Gerald) of Knoxville, Geraldine Lehman of Florida and Sharon Loucks of Knoxville; his sister-in-law Annamae N. "Sally" Patterson of Florida; and also, Edward Patterson and Donald Patterson. He is also survived by her 14 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
