He was predeceased by: his daughter Cheryl Kirkendall Roan; his parents, Luther B. Kirkendall and Edith Wilson Kirkendall; and his siblings, Edith, Carolyn, Helen and Luther.
He is survived by: his wife Lois Bellinger; his grandchildren, Christian Kauffman (Kelly), Casey Sheckler (Dan), Katie Murray (Andrew) and Kendra Culp (Sean); his great grandchildren, Harley Kilmer, William, Steven, Xander Kauffman, Elijah Sheckler, Morgan, Mason Murray, Keira and Preston Culp; his great great grandchild Grayson Sandstrom; and his sister Rosalita Jones. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
