He was predeceased by: his parents, James E. Spence and Gladys V. Spence (Kime); and his siblings, Mary Wetzel, Hope Shaffer, Elizabeth Jean Spence, Anna Neely, Virginia McCrone, Olmer, Clark, James, Spark, Wayne, Marlin, Cloyd and Harman Spence.
He is survived by: his children, Angela D. (Robert Vines) of Arendtsville and Jeffrey A. (Sharri Plattenburg) of Littlestown; his grandchildren, Casey Miller, Kurt Vines, Gary Plattenburg and Kristin Vines; and his great grandchildren, Colton, Gracie Miller, Sierra, Sophie Plattenburg, Adam, Emma and Levi Vines.
