“I met Sid and Shirley, in Philly, when I was a French horn student at the Philadelphia Musical Academy, in 1963. They were both so very kind to me, this young man from New Orleans. Sid got me on with the Shubert Theater, playing in Musicals needing an orchestra, and Shirley introduced me to Sol Schoenbach, who headed the Settlement School, who then hired me to teach at its summer program in Pine Grove, Pa. My most heartfelt condolences to family and loved one. May he dwell with the Lord forever!”
