He was predeceased by: his parents, Phillip Mooney and Margaret Mooney; and his brothers, Phillip Mooney and Steven Mooney. He is survived by: his wife Cheryl Bireley-Mooney; his children, Emily and Bryan; his stepchildren, Chelsey Livingston (Steven) and Tyler Donohue; and his siblings, Michael Mooney, Kathleen Picard (Raymond) and Charleen Mooney. He is also survived by his many nieces, nephews, grandchildren, and a host of extended family.

Visitation was held on Saturday, October 5th 2024 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Our Mother of Good Counsel (31 Pennswood Rd, Bryn Mawr, PA 19010). A funeral Mass was held on Saturday, October 5th 2024 at 3:00 PM at the same location.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Charlie's favorite charity, St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, at StJude.org.
