Please join us for the funeral honoring Robert’s life on Saturday, April 22. Service will be held at Louis M. Margotta Funeral Home 511 Church Street, Jessup. Interment at Valley View Cemetery will follow the service.
Robert Wrightson, 83, of Archbald passed away Thursday at Regional Hospital surrounded by family. His wife of 56 years is the former Donna Gilmour.
Bob was born in his grandmother's house in Freeland, PA. He was the son of the late John and Vivian Bell Wrightson of Blakely. Bob was a graduate of Blakely High School and was a member of the Army National Guard. After his military service, he was employed in the Garment Industry as a Supervisor of Warehousing. He was a member of the Tri State Bible Baptist Church in Chesterfield, NH.
Bob loved his family dearly. He was a loving and devoted husband, and an amazing father who always put his family first. Bob was a happy, doting grandfather to his granddaughters who adored their Pop. He had a mischievous sense of humor and his infectious smile spread to the faces of everyone he met. Bob was one of a kind. He was a man of strong conviction, dedicated to his country and his faith.
Bob always loved "an adventure" and enjoyed traveling. He enjoyed bowling and coached Missy League baseball. He had a passionate love affair with oysters, hot dogs, and charcuterie. He touched the lives of so many people. He will truly be missed and will never, ever, be forgotten.
His memory lives on with his daughters, Deborah Wrightson Bowman, Cambridge, MA, Donna Leigh Wrightson-Klima, and his son-in-law Richard Klima, Denville, NJ, He will be forever cherished by his three granddaughters Lily, Olivia and Carys Bowman.
As a father, grandfather, uncle, coach, and friend Bob always had a special place in his heart for children.
He is also survived and missed by his two brothers, Anthony Wrightson and wife Sharon, Jessup, and Duane Wrightson and wife Ann, Blakely, as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by a brother William Wrightson and a sister, Jacqueline Rought.
The funeral will be Thursday from the Louis M. Margotta Funeral Home, 511 Church St, Jessup with services by Pastor Mark Bodanza at 11 AM.
Internment, Valley View Cemetery, Montdale. Friends may call Wednesday from 6 to 9PM at the funeral home.
