He was predeceased by: his parent John Trently; and his siblings, Helen Wasley, Nan Grzywacz, Francis, William, Jackie and Thomas.

He is survived by: his spouse Mary Ellen Carbine Trently; his parent Anna Trently; his sons, Jerry (Peggy), Mark (Diane), Eynon, Archbald Borough Police Chief and Jamie; his grandchildren, Megan Trently Hess, Stefani, Eric, Ian, Kieren, Katherine, Julie and Mya; his great grandchildren, Adam Hess and Sadie Hess; and his sister Carol Trently Newcomb.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Christ the King Parish Food Pantry or Hospice of the Sacred Heart, Dunmore.
