He was predeceased by: his parents, Edward Gerek and Vera Chaykovsky Gerek; and his brother Glenn Gerek. He is survived by: his children, Edward (Haley), Kyle and Courtney Svec (Thomas); his siblings, Terrence (Susan) and Gail Hammond of Whitehouse Station, NJ; and his nephew Eric Hammond.
