He was predeceased by: his wife Joan Cummings Houser; his parents, Carson Houser and Mary Lascup Houser; and his sons, Donald and Joseph Houser.

He is survived by: his children, Thomas (Jeanine), Michael (Lynn Cicero) and Mary Kay Eisele (Christopher); his daughter-in-law Cindy Houser; and his grandchildren, Christine, Brian, Amber Houser, Rebecca Schlasta, Scott Wagner, Megan, Christa, Richard Eisele, Heather, Stephanie and Zachary Houser. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
