With profound sadness, we say goodbye to William C. Toland of Apollo, Pennsylvania, born in Washington, Pennsylvania, whose vibrant spirit touched the lives of many. William C. left this world on October 31, 2024 at the age of 78, leaving a void in the lives of so many people. He was predeceased by: his parents, William E. Toland and Jeaniva A. "Jennie" Toland (Allison); his nephew Thomas P. Toland; and his niece Erin Toland Boyer. He is survived by: his wife Carol A. Toland (Rashid); his sons, William A. Toland (Kimberly) of Pittsburgh, Brendan Toland (Amy) of Oakmont and Chad Toland (Bethany) of Spring Church; his grandchildren, Gavin, Aubrielle, Brennan, Xavier, Niah, Lincoln and William "Liam"; his siblings, Thomas Toland (Gaylene) of North Apollo, Carl Toland of Allison Park and Colleen Milie (Vince) of Apollo; his nephews, Eric Milie, Michael Toland, Casey Toland, Daniel Rashid, Gregory Rashid and David Rashid; and his niece Alea Rashid. He is also survived by many sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, grand-nieces and grand-nephews.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, November 6th 2024 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Curran-Shaffer Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc. (100 Owens View Ave, Apollo, PA 15613). Viewing was held on Thursday, November 7th 2024 at 10:00 AM at the same location. A celebration of life was held on Thursday, November 7th 2024 from 11:00 AM to 11:45 AM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Bill's memory to the Erin Toland Boyer Memorial Scholarship, 220 S. Jefferson St., Suite B, Kittanning, PA 16201, or to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN, 38105.
