With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Robert John Machen of Apollo, Pennsylvania, born in Wilkinsburg, Pennsylvania, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on October 23, 2024 at the age of 77. He was predeceased by: his mother Rose Machen; and his sisters, Sherry and Nancy. He is survived by: his wife Judith A. Borthwick Machen of Apollo; his sons, Steven Machen of New Stanton, Mark Machen (Gina) of Vandergrift and Brian Machen (Chrissy) of Irwin; his stepchildren, John Shank (Peggy) of Upper Burrell, Kate Bowers (Randy) of Washington Twp, Annalee Laughlin (Rege) of Killbuck Twp, Barbara Hronyatz (Rocky) of Spring Church and Russell Shank (Melissa) of West Newton; and his brothers, Keith George of Vandergrift and Harold George of Great Mills, MD.. He is also survived by numerous loving grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins.
