He was predeceased by: his parents, Arthur Shaeffer and Goldie Shaeffer (McGuire); his wife Ruth Shaeffer (Kesler); his son Kenneth Eugene Shaeffer; and his siblings, Betty (McDermott), Imogene, Gereldean, Joann (Milanak), Carol (Woods), Arthur and Richard.
He is survived by: his daughters, Ruth Shaeffer of North Apollo, Tenia Torrey (John) of North Carolina, Christine Healy (John) of Tarentum and Fay Gioia (John) of North Carolina; his daughter-in-law Vivian Shaeffer of North Apollo; his siblings, Virginia Madison (Wayne) of Spring Church, Nancy Quillen of Apollo, Judy Rumbaugh of Spring Church and Donald Shaeffer of Apollo; his grandchildren, Kristie, Shawon, Kyle, Katie, Richard, Britney, Melissa and Megan; and his great grandchildren, Ashton, Seth, Brooklyn, Taylor, Ava, Caleb, Levi, Luke, Stella, Nova Jean and Nevaeh.
