He was predeceased by: his parents, John E. Hilty and Alice Hilty (Shotts); his wife Adelaide Hilty (Posney); his son Ronald Hilty; and his son-in-law Vernon Shaffer.
He is survived by: his close friend Jan Sosnick of Kiski Township; and his children, Diana K. Shaffer of Kiski Township, Carolyn G. Batistig of Brush Valley and Gary L. Hilty (Joanne) of Slatington. He is also survived by ten grandchildren; seventeen great grandchildren; nineteen great- great grandchildren, as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
