He was predeceased by: his parents, Chester Guy Ritter and Melinda Ritter (Maxson); his wife Dorothy Ritter (Morgan); his daughter Donna Wygonik; and his siblings, Minter Ritter, Irene, Katherine and Jean.

He is survived by: his granddaughters, Kristin (Jeremy Truskowski) and Shana Wygonik; his great grandchildren, Eva and Scarlett Truskowskl; his son-in-law Stephen Wygonik; and his siblings, Karrell Ritter (Helen) and Patricia Busch of Willowick, Ohio. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
