She was predeceased by: her parents, John Contenta and Mary Contenta (Prichinillo); her husband Paul J. Smedley; and her siblings, Tony, Jim, Danny Contenta and Theresa Smith.

She is survived by: her sons, Paul Smedley (Judith) of New Sewickley Twp, George Smedley (Susan) of Shelby Twp, John Smedley (Michelle) of Baden and James Smedley (Rebecca) of New Sewickley; her grandchildren, Brian Smedley (Katie), William Smedley (Becky), Amanda Ruby (John), Angela Mancini (Smedley), Scott Smedley (RaeAnne) and Nicole Smedley; her great grandchildren, Thomas, Kelsey Smedley, Nate, Joel Smedley, Alice, Owen Smedley, Gwendolyn and Josephine Ruby; and her siblings, Louise Conti (Robert), Mary Belle Aloise (Mario) of Pittsburgh and John Contenta of Baden. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

Due to current Covid-19 restrictions pertaining to indoor gatherings, no more than 25 people are permitted in the funeral home which includes family members.
