With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Sylvia Byrd Desmond-Smith of Ambler, Pennsylvania, born in York, South Carolina, who passed away on November 18, 2022 at the age of 77. She was predeceased by: her father Clint Byrd. She is survived by: her husband Andre Desmond-Smith; her siblings, Barbara Byrd, Shirley Crawford, Omera Byrd and Meek "Ed" Byrd; her children, Courtney Desmond-Smith and Alan Desmond-Smith; her granddaughters, Ailanii of Ambler, PA and Ava of Ambler, PA; and her siblings, Florence Byrd, Doris Byrd, Linda Lowery, Vanessa Byrd and Charles Byrd of Gastonia, N. C.. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
