He was predeceased by: his parents, Edward Joseph Vogel and Anita Vogel; and his sisters, Margaret Dixon and Anne Vogel. He is survived by: his wife Norma Vogel; and his children, Gina, Steve, Carolyn and JoAnne.

“Richard was an excellent friend and a brilliant conversationalist. As a member of our Men's Group, he was particularly interested in discussing the finer points of Belief and religious practice. He was a very talented Banjo and Ukulele player and an incredible Draughtsman. As a Landscape Architect, he designed marvelous gardens and lawns without the use of computer assistance. Luckily his work has been preserved by his children. He was the last of the Classical Free-Hand Artists. A true wit.”
