He was predeceased by: his grandson Charles; his wife Phyllis May (Clapper); and his grandson David J. Petrie. He is survived by: his granddaughter Mary Petrie (Foreman); his children, Cathy Smith (Steve), Robert Petrie, Jr. (Cindy) and Dennis Petrie (Tessa); and his grandchildren, Jason R. Petrie, Justin T. Petrie, Jennifer A. Smith, Jared D. Petrie, Kelly L. Wardle, Adam R. Petrie and Joshua E. Petrie. He is also survived by twenty-five great-grandchildren.
