With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Laurie Jo Dey of Altoona, Pennsylvania, born in Lock Haven, Pennsylvania, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on October 22, 2024 at the age of 77. She was predeceased by: her parents, Charles R. Burd and Elanor L. Burd (Sauers); her boyfriend Edward Friedenberger; and her brother David Burd. She is survived by: her daughter Laulena Y. Leighty (Erik) of Williamsburg; her grandchildren, Tarynn Friedenberger (Christopher) of Altoona, Tambri Klein (Matthew) of Altoona and Tanner Snyder of Munster; her great grandchildren, Hayden, Hailey, Hadley, Natalia, Marie, Alyssa, Ryker and Jackson; and her sisters, Martha Strawmier and Jane Ozio.
Viewing was held on Friday, October 25th 2024 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Mauk & Yates Funeral Home (719 N 4th Ave, Altoona, PA 16601). A funeral service was held on Saturday, October 26th 2024 at 10:00 AM at the same location.
