It is with great sadness that we announce the death of George D. Mitchell of Altoona, Pennsylvania, who passed away on December 15, 2024, at the age of 82, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his mother Clara E. "Betty" Mitchell; his wife Barbara A. Houck; and his cousin Larry Puckett. He is survived by: his daughter Amy Mitchell Pierson; his granddaughters, Anna, Emma and Islee; his sisters-in-law, Charlene Lancy (Denny) of Altoona and Mary Douds (Don); and his cousin Debbie Morgan of Cockeysville, MD..
Visitation will be held on Thursday, December 26th 2024 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Stevens Mortuary, Inc. (1421 8th Ave, Altoona, PA 16602). A funeral Mass will be held on Friday, December 27th 2024 at 10:00 AM.
