As Catherine departs from our midst, her spirit ascends to join the cosmic dance of stars, a shimmering constellation of memories that will forever grace the night sky of the hearts of those who loved Catherine. Though Catherine may no longer walk beside us, her legacy lives on — a testament to the enduring power of love to transcend the boundaries of time and space.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Paul Elder and Wilhelmina Elder (Springman); her husband Kenneth J. Hofer; and her grandson Brock. She is survived by: her children, Christine M. Van Sickle, Paul J. Van Sickle, Richard D. Hofer and Robert J. Hofer; and her brother Ralph J. Elder. She is also survived by seven grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, January 14th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Stanley J. Krish Funeral Home Inc. (1204 17th St, Altoona, PA 16601). A funeral Mass was held on Wednesday, January 15th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church (2700 Broad Ave, Altoona, PA 16601).
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be sent to the Central PA Humane Society or Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church.
