It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Carl W. Dodson of Altoona, Pennsylvania, who passed away on January 7, 2025, at the age of 96, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Levi Dodson and Edna Dodson (Hanley); and his wife Betty Dunn. He is survived by: his children, Terry Dodson of Altoona, Tim Dodson (Sue) of Altoona and Barbara Day (Dale) of Glen Burnie, MD; his grandchildren, Christina Day, Suzy Vovak (Greg), Amy Wilson (Cole) and Kenny Dodson (Jenna); and his great grandchildren, Taylor Culhane, Will Turiano, Alana Dodson and Alexis Dodson.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, January 18th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the E. Merrill Smith Funeral Home, Inc. (2309 Broad Ave, Altoona, PA 16601). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, January 18th 2025 at 3:00 PM at the same location.

The family requests that contributions be made to Central PA Humane Society, 1837 E. Pleasant Valley Blvd, Altoona, PA 16602 in Pappy's memory.
