With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Benjamin A. Shaffer of Altoona, Pennsylvania, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on August 21, 2024 at the age of 36. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

Though Benjamin may no longer walk beside us, his memory will forever be enshrined in the fabric of the lives of those Benjamin touched, a beacon of light guiding us through the darkness. In his absence, his spirit lives on — a gentle whisper in the breeze, a ray of sunlight on a cloudy day, a reminder that love knows no boundaries.

He was predeceased by: his brother Thomas Jr.; and his grandparents, Bennett, Joan Shaffer and Alton Livingston. He is survived by: his parents, Thomas Shaffer and Sharon Shaffer (Livingston); his grandmother Susan Livingston; and his brother Jonathan (Rachel) of West Chester.

“Deep condolences to Ben's family, friends and players. I never met Ben but knew him as NittanyNation3488 on Lion's247 with Fight On State, a Penn State sports site. NN was one of the most knowledgeable posters, especially when it came to evaluating the O-Line. NN tried his best to assist everyone in better understanding the game of football, often worrying if he might have offended someone. Just so shocking and sad. His love for Penn State football was obvious, and his input missed. psu1972”
