We are sad to announce that on March 26, 2023, at the age of 62, Barbara Sessamen of Altoona, Pennsylvania passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Ronald Markel and Marjorie Markel Sr. (Davis); and her brother John J. Markel Sr.. She is survived by: her husband Edwin Sessamen; her sons, David Wayne Hoover Jr. of Martinsburg and William Allen Markel of Altoona; and her brother Ronald Markel Jr. (Verna). She is also survived by three grandchildren; six great-grandchildren.

Contributions in her memory may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
