He was predeceased by: his parents, William Monro and Mary McKenzie Monro; his sisters, Phyllis and Dorothy; and his son-in-law Russell.

He is survived by: his wife Sandra Garenia Monro; his children, William III (Deb Hunter), Karen and Mary Ann; and his granddaughters, Emily Kabir (Nafees), Theresa Walker (Paul Dascani) and Audrey Monro-Neely.
