He was loved and cherished by many people including: his children, Pamela Scherer of Allison Park and Joseph W. (Jean); his grandchildren, Devin Callahan, Jacob Callahan, Kelsey Kinoshita (Kenji), Joseph E. Scherer (Jamie) and Jessica Myros (Randy); his great grandchildren, Aria, Alanna Kinoshita, Rylie, Reed and Joanna Myros; and his brother Banker C. Beach.
